Win a yearly subscription to Hungry Eye Magazine in our Comp!

Calling all photographers and photography enthusiasts!

Our next online competition is up and running and the theme is ‘Night Time’. You can make the subject anything you like, but it has to be taken “after hours”.

When night falls everything changes. The light, the colours, the people, the landscape, the activities. There are so many things you could choose, or you could even focus on something your very familiar with, but capturing it at night will create a whole different illusion and context about what the image says!

THE PRIZE
The winner will receive a fantastic year long subscription to Hungry Eye Magazine, the leading Photography and Filmmaking magazine packed to the brim with interesting articles and photographs!

Find out more about Hungry Eye magazine here – www.hungryeyemagazine.com

Latest Review from Student Adam – ‘…I’d sign up again in a snap!’

‘I’ve done a few lessons / workshops / tutorials with the Photography Course London (PCL) guys and have enjoyed each one…
I started out as a complete beginner with photography, every shot I ever took with my DSLR was in full auto mode – I didn’t think anything more about it – but through various lessons and workshops, the PCL guys have really opened my eyes to the world of photography. Now I never use Automatic mode but actually decide on how I shoot depending on the subject or the effect I want to go for. It’s makes photography just much more fun!…
The Lessons/ Workshops are done in a very relaxed manner – the tutors are passionate and experts in their fields and every student that I have met on a workshop has been great too – I find the workshops educational but also a fun day out in equal parts!’

Grace’s blog post | My favourite exhibition

The most exciting exhibition I’ve visited since moving to London has got to be the Glamour of the Gods exhibition that was showing at The National Portrait Gallery. It has now come to a close now, which is a little bit sad. I would have loved for it to have stayed there as a permanent collection. The photographs ranged from the 1920’s up to the 1960’s, but it wasn’t just about the photographs and the actor/actress that was portrayed in them. It was also a lot about the photographers themselves. This was a really interesting exhibition because you were able to read about the actor/actress and where the photograph was taken, (usually on the film set) and then there was information about the photographer, which told you what they were about and what they were doing at the time the image was taken.
It’s not often that you get to know about the photographer or artist. Most of the time the focus is on the piece of work itself or the subject within it and the actual photographer doesn’t really get a mention apart from a small caption, if they’re lucky.
