The Sony World Photography Awards are back!

We always enjoy following The Sony World Photography Awards here at PCL and seeing the amazing photos that make it through. So we’re excited that this year’s competition is back for its 12th year and now open for entry!!

From professional to enthusiastic hobbyist, whatever your level, this is the competition for you. And it’s completely FREE to enter. The Sony World Photography Awards is one of the most celebrated and diverse photography competitions in the world, aiming to showcase the best contemporary photography worldwide.

Whether you like taking photos of architecture or landscapes, people or wildlife, or whether you prefer getting out and about for a spot of documentary or street photography, there’s a competition category ready and waiting for you to enter.

All images are judged by leading industry experts, who come together each year in London to decide the best images. A total prize fund of $30,000 (USD) plus the latest Sony digital imaging equipment is shared between winning photographers.

The Sony World Photography Awards has four competitions:

Professional: Recognising outstanding bodies of work (D/L 11 Jan 2019, 1pm GMT)

Open:Rewarding the world’s best single images (D/L 4 Jan 2019, 1pm GMT)

Youth:Best single images by photographers aged 12-19(D/L 4 Jan 2019, 1pm GMT)

Student:For photography students worldwide(D/L 30 Nov 2018, 1pm GMT)
